Fun and adventure, learning and challenge go hand in hand on an
Island Expeditions educational trip. The way we learn and explore
as a group is inherently fun and adventurous. Since 1987, Island
Expeditions has operated adventure learning trips in Belize that
have set the standard for others to follow. We not only travel to
the most remarkable locations in the country, but we also take you
there at the right times, with professional leaders and with the
quality gear you need to explore and learn to the fullest. On the
Barrier Reef, in the rainforest, and on the rivers our years of
experience and knowledge of Belize are with you every step and paddle
stroke of the way.
"If
you have a notion to take school groups kayaking in the Caribbean,
I recommend Island Expeditions without reserve. They are the best
company we have ever been associated with in our ten years of kayaking
throughout North and South America."

Leading
the Way in Adventure...
Our trips in Belize are the culmination of a decade and a half of
research and exploration. As we search for new paddling routes along
the barrier reef, trek into the headwaters of a remote river, or
join an archaeology team mapping recently discovered Mayan ruins,
our constant goal is to improve your educational travel experience.
Who would have thought that when we first began our sea kayak and
snorkel trips at remote and seldom visited Glover's Reef Atoll that
over a decade later it would become both a treasured National Park
and United Nations World Heritage Site. In 2002 we opened our newest
basecamp on Halfmoon Cay, Lighthouse Reef. With its spectacular
beaches and astonishing abundance of marine life it is no surprise
Lighthouse Reef has quickly become our most popular tropical island
basecamp.
Island
Expedition's trips are more than adventure and exploration in exotic
locales. Along with skilled instruction in sports and activities,
our trips brim full with learning and interaction with the people,
the land, the sea and the wildlife of Belize. We also know that
a great adventure is created from having professional leaders, first-class
equipment, nutritious and delicious meals and you can be confident
that your participation in an IEC trip contributes to protecting
the wild and wonderful places we depend on.
"This
was one of the most positive and memorable experiences I've had
in 17 years of teaching. The educational opportunities afforded
by Island Expeditions are unsurpassed."
- David Maher, Teacher, Oldfields School
